-
Operations
- Collinson Ceramics is dedicated to providing the best levels of service in the most sustainable and environmentally considerate ways.
Communications and Packaging
Our communications and sample packaging are always provided in recyclable, recycled, or reused materials. We aim to use packaging that comes into our building to meet this commitment without compromising product delivery standards. This means we:
- Do not re-box ranges as some competitors do.
- Are progressing towards a paper-free policy, with our new Kerridge computer system already achieving a 45% reduction in paper use.
- Ensure each range has an eco-download option, even if it’s not range-specific.
Transport
We are streamlining our transportation to deliver our products in the greenest possible manner. Our ongoing commitment includes:
- Adding our first fully electric vehicle to our fleet as of April 2021.
- Promoting 5 and 6mm tile ranges that use 30% less raw material and allow for larger quantities on a pallet, reducing transport needs without compromising quality.
Stock
We aim to deliver products in the required quantities directly from our partners to minimize waste and environmental impact. Therefore, we:
- Keep sample stocks to a minimum to avoid stockpiling unusable quantities of discontinued ranges.
- Never throw away old ranges; they are sent back to manufacturers or offered to colleges and charity projects.
Partner Commitments
- Atlas Concorde: Our main supplier, committed to environmental issues with certifications like Product Environmental Footprint (PEF) and Environmental Product Declaration (EPD). They are also working towards ISO14001 for the highest BREEAM standards.
- Florim: The first tile industry manufacturer to obtain B Corp certification, demonstrating their positive social and environmental impact.
- Vives: Produced the world’s highest recycled content tile, the Amazonia range, with 90% recycled content, showcasing their commitment to innovation and the environment.
By adhering to these principles, Collinson Ceramics aims to lead the industry in sustainability and provide our customers with products that are both environmentally friendly and of the highest quality.
